Whether driven by technology, e-business, or an increasing number of globally active customers, we see opportunities to build on strong foundations and provide world class solutions for the 21st century in every market we serve. Today, that kind of commitment includes innovative solutions with significant focus on e-business and technology solutions and I am extremely pleased by the early feedback from customers on the productivity and efficiency gains that are being experienced. Exciting times for customers, dealers and Caterpillar!


Our main story highlights the relationship between Cat dealer Bergerat Monnoyeur Algeria and one of China’s biggest construction firms for the development of the Trans-Sahara Highway. It demonstrates how two international companies are working together to create a growing partnership and is a great example of how we need to operate in today’s global world. You’ll also read about how Italy’s CGT Edilizia is making big strides in equipment rentals by following the Rental, Used and New (RUN) model. And for customers who prefer to perform their own maintenance and repairs, we’ve included a story about how Cat solutions are helping them reduce costs and machine downtime.


The Caterpillar and Cat brands have a reinvigorated focus on the success of our customers. In this issue, I am proud to see this focus hard at work!
